The central area of Elche is undoubtedly the most lively, varied and fun in the evenings, mainly from Thursday to Saturday. The excellent climate envelops the people of Elche and the streets and squares take on a festive air.
Between Calle Blas Valero and Avenida Juan Carlos I, which mark out the boundaries of the heart of the city, there are all kinds of night spots and all kinds of atmospheres, both indoors and outdoors, with the pavement cafés which are increasingly common in the historic centre of Elche.
The classic style of Irish pub is widespread. Imported beers together with the benign climate, make it possible to start the night at pubs with pavement cafés such as Flaherty’s (Plaza Eres de Saint Llúcia), Newton (Glorieta), De Bassus (Plaza de las Flores), Jackson (Infante Don Manuel, 15, in front of the Congress Centre) or Bierwinkel (Avenida Juan Carlos I, 24).
For disco-pub lovers there is, Stanford (Sant Vincent, 9) and Blue Hand (Sant Agatàngel, 3). In the same area, in the central Carrer Fatxo, 3, is Rompeolas and, in Plaza Eres de Santa Llúcia is D10.
For a select environment there is Cooler (Maestro Albéniz, 11) and, in the pedestrian Carrer Empedrat, are places such as La Comedia Centro, with live music and stand-up comedy, and Suquer.
Next to the Basilica of Santa Maria, in the pedestrian Carrer de la Fira and Carrer Sant Pere, there are friendly bars with pavement cafés: Racó Pepe and Barra Pilsen are excellent options for supper. For late night drinks, there is Balboa, with a multicultural flavour and Sultana, a bar with atmosphere.
For alternative music, rock and reggae, there are tasca bars such as Charlie (Velarde, 27) or La Xipitera (Martín de Torres, 11).
Those who want to round off the night in a club may choose between La Comedy Glorieta, next to the Glorieta square (Trinquet, 1); Bali, Alfonso XII, 18, or S7VEN Boite, in Blas Valero, 18. For the older crowd, there is Boite Limousine (Jorge Juan, 18)
The centrally located public car parks solve any parking problems: Traspalacio, in front of the Tourist Information Office; Gran Teatro, near to the theatre of the same name; Porta de la Morera, next to the Morera Congress Centre; Puente Rey, on Calle Alfonso XII and Sol Garage, in the Avenida Juan Carlos I, 7. Elx-Parc, behind the railway station, offers free, outdoor parking.
